PROFESSIONAL
EXPERIENCE
Senior Data Analyst -
Verispan - 2006
·
My
basic responsibility was to measure and monitor the capture of pharmacy and
medical encounter data being stored at Verispan for use by pharmaceutical
companies. This allows for longitudinal
studies combining medical encounters with previous and subsequent pharmacy
scripts and fills. A major interest was the switching of health savings
accounts data through alternative channels such as MasterCard and Visa rather
than the traditional Per-Se NDC and Caremark PCS switching channels.
·
I
also assisted in the fielding of specialty pharmacies, compounding pharmacies,
and physician office dispensing tracked by "J Codes".
·
I
also studied the impact of low cost (Wal-Mart) generic drugs on the data
warehouse.
Project Management, Data
Architect, and Senior Consultant 1986 - 2006
·
I
project managed a SQL Server/dot net project to develop federal HEDIS measures
and a patient registry. I served as the
data architect, query writer and project manager.
·
Includes
extensive data transformations of claims, enrollment, and provider data into a
SQL Server 2005 database.
·
This
is a web-based reporting system to help physicians meet their Harvard-Pilgrim,
Tufts Health Plan, and Blue Cross quality objectives under Federal guidelines.
·
I
worked with the drug discovery area on chemistry- and biology-based enterprise
entities that reach across the corporation.
21 CFR 11 compliance was sometimes required.
·
I
also reviewed data models across Pfizer to determine if they meet the corporate
standards. ERWin and ModelMart were
used in this mostly Oracle activity.
·
Casewise
Corporate Modeler used for conceptual data modeling and process modeling
including case studies.
·
This
was mostly an Oracle environment. My
mission included modifying Erwin models to recognize unique Oracle data
structures and materialized views.
·
SQL
Server DBA Tasks.
·
T-SQL
stored procedure programming.
·
Data
Modeling of self-administration system in ERWin
·
Report
Subsystem debugging and performance tuning of SQL Server database.
Textron Financial 11/03-05/04
·
Completed
data map of eight feeds from commercial loan and lease transaction systems
including SQL Server and UNIX based FTP data plus the general ledger system
feeding into SAS Data sets associated with the Textron Financial Data Warehouse
Phase II.
·
Validated
SAS Data feeds and tested embedded SQL queries within the SAS programming environment. Also worked with traditional SAS programs in
a UNIX environment and with Korn-based scripts.

Managed projects to develop healthcare systems
and HMO-like business structures. Used CA SuperProject for project management
tasks.
·
Developed various databases and Web sites using
SQL Server and Dreamweaver Ultradev as well as older tools dating back to the
1980s. Built an Indian Country data
network tying tribes together for common reporting of health data and supply
ordering.
·
Used ERwin for data design. Business modeling
with Visio.
· In the spring of 2003 (03/03 – 05/03), I worked on a special project to support a United Nations Environment Program project by building a data base and a web site.

Developed an HMO filing for federal qualification. Built a third party claims processing
capability. Help build a pharmacy
network that now includes one of the largest mail-order pharmacies in the
nation and a major PBM, the Pequot Pharmaceutical Network.
·
Finalized
their HIPAA EDI X12n 837 Companion Guides and reject (997) planning including
data feeds from Oracle and mainframe data.
·
Designed
SQL Server feeds to their data warehouse and EDI responses back to hospitals
and physician groups as well as laboratories and pharmacies using such X12 data
sets as the 276/277 sets, the 278 set, and the 835 set.
