Data Architect – Fidelity Investments - 01/07 - 12/07

I served as the data architect for a team developing an equity trading system for Fidelity. The mission was to build a data model for a Java/Data Cache based transaction system, employing an in-memory, high-speed data store (Oracle’s TimesTen). I used Power-Designer to convert a conceptual/logical model to a full machine-level physical model. Java programmers in Boston and India used the resulting data definition language (DDL) that I derived from the data model to generate the actual normalized transaction data being pushed out of the TimesTen data cache. It was received in a permanent Oracle database. I also mapped the set of reference data that was loaded into the cache to be used by the Java programmers to establish an object relational model of investment vehicle and other data needed for the trading process. A major objective was building a pathway for supporting derivatives as part of the automated trading platform.
